My First Story

" I can't believe you're moving this summer, Aphrodite!", said my best friend Kayla. I rolled my eyes and placed my book I was reading and faced Kayla. Sometimes, I don't know my parents could ever want me to move all the way over to Washington D.C. I didn't want to move from Sacramento to Washington D.C. I liked the sun, the glamour, and the fame which is Sacramento. My parents are both teachers at a small public elementary school and when it closed down last December, we had to move.

Well, here we are at Washington D.C. I don't know how people could live at Washington D.C! It's so cold! It was my first day at school today at Adams Academy. " Hi, I'm Athena!!", said this girl behind me. I turned around to see a girl with blonde hair and big green eyes. " I heard your name is Aphrodite!! That's so cool!", she said as she was trying to get next to me. Athena was wearing a black long sleeved shirt and dark blue demin jeans. On her shirt was a picture of a witch on a broom. I asked her what was her favorite play and she said, " Wicked!"

I asked Athena why she liked Wicked and she explained that her mother told the story of the play every night at bedtime. I asked her how she thought of Elphaba and Fiyero and she said exictedly, " That's my mom and dad!"
